Another one from a series of images I produced for my final semester 1 project at uni. The brief (self-directed) was to produce a set of six illustrations for a limited illustrated edition of David Mitchell's (the writer) novel Cloud Atlas.

From the fifth sub-plot of the book, this is a fairly gruesome scene if you know what's happening. It gets even more gruesome afterwards too. I was aware it could become really rather gory, so I decided to hold back on the blood.
